A public address system

A public address system, the longstanding requirement of KRRA, and a personal computer, another need of KRRA were purchased out of the net proceeds from the Vicennial Souvenir published in 2014.

Both the above public address system and the personal computer system were the longstanding requirements of KRRA. We were able to purchase them out of the net proceeds earned through canvassing advertisements inserted in the KRRA Vicennial Souvenir published in 2014. These assets now cost Rs. 45,000/- together.

The flagship project (KRRA Building) of KRRA

The flagship project (KRRA Building) of KRRA was our long-cherished dream. With the generous support of most of our members we were able to purchase a small strip of land and construct the above building on it. The KRRA Building which was inaugurated on January 29, 2012, stands as a symbol of 'where there is a will, there is a way'. The building is worth an asset of over Rs,11,00,000/- to our Association.

Kalikkoottam

Kalikkoottam, a vacation programme by the Youth Wing, under the aegis of KRRA since 2013.

Our activities in Vanitha and Veedu

Our activities have caught the attention of some well-known institutions. Vanitha and Veedu, two sister publications of the Malayala Manorama, came forward to highlight KRRA in 2011 and 2012. You could see here the write-ups published.

Innovative welfare - Aid in Need

Another innovative welfare measure called Aid in Need was introduced for the economically weaker section of KRRA membership with a view to providing them timely assistance when in financial need.

OASIS

Introduced regular monthly allowance under OASIS (Old Age Subsistence Improvement Scheme) to 3 poor old members in January 2011. Now, the number of beneficiaries has risen and the quantum of pension enhanced.

Free Cataract Surgery.

Over 20 patients afflicted with defective vision were provided with free cataract surgery.

Eye Donation

Succeeded in having 20 volunteer members of KRRA sign the consent documents for the posthumous donation of their eyes.

Renovated/replaced House

Renovated/replaced, with tin/aluminum sheets or RCC, the thatched roofs of the houses of five economically weak members.

Thrivikramangalam-Methodu Link Road

Got the Thrivikramangalam-Methodu Link Road constructed on the land donated by the resident owners in 2002.

DHWANI

Brought out the first edition of DHWANI, a house magazine, in 2001, and two colourful Souvenirs on the occasions of the 10th anniversary of KRRA in 2004 and 20th anniversary of KRRA in 2014.

Family Directories

Printed Family Directories in 1999, 2003, 2008, 2012 and supplied them free of cost to all the members.

EDUCATIONAL AWARD

Instituted KRRA's Educational Award in 1995 and the first member-sponsored educational award MITE in 2000, and various other educational etc awards later.

Life and Associate memberships

Extended Life and Associate memberships to over 50 residents.

Membership

Expanded membership to over 95% of the residing families.

Supply of Drinking Water

Ensured regular supply of drinking water to the residents.
